Art Preston – Founder of Presco, Inc
Mr. Preston founded Presco, Inc. in 1991. He began his career as a geologist in the Illinois Basin, and has spent over 40 years working in the oil and gas business. Mr. Preston and his brothers have formed numerous companies over their careers, including not only oil and gas companies, but also real estate ventures, horse breeding and racing operations, cattle ranches, nutritional supplements marketing companies, fiber optics companies, restaurants, and geothermal power generation companies, among others. During his career, Mr. Preston has worked in all of the primary oil and gas producing regions in North America, as well as many foreign theatres. He explored, developed and put into production over 1.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in South Louisiana from eight fields. He has been involved in the discovery of over 120 fields, principally in the Michigan Niagaran Reef Trend, with collective reserves measured in the hundred of billions of cubic feet of gas and millions of barrels of oil. Mr. Preston’s companies have developed and sold numerous oil and gas assets, with cumulative sales prices (not counting normal production revenues) in excess of $400 million. Mr. Preston’s business philosophy is to use experienced staff, the latest in seismic technology and the latest technological advances in drilling, completion and production methods.
David R. Wheeler – Executive Vice President
Mr. Wheeler brings over 30 years of oil and gas finance and accounting experience to Presco. After 11 years as a practicing Certified Public Accountant with Deloitte & Touche, Mr. Wheeler entered private industry and has served in the roles of internal auditor, chief financial officer, general manager and executive vice president of domestic and international corporations. He has the finance and management expertise to oversee Presco and direct its future activities.
Kim R.W. Bennetts – Vice President, Exploration & Production
Mr. Bennetts, a Certified Petroleum Geologist, has over 28 years of experience in the energy industry. Mr. Bennetts has managed exploration and production operations in New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and the Offshore Gulf of Mexico and has directed the evaluation of several major acquisitions. During 1990 to 1993 he was manager of the technical and commercial evaluation of all of Conoco’s domestic and international exploratory projects and plays. Mr. Bennetts has been deeply involved with all aspects of the oil and gas business from field development to frontier exploration and is well suited to direct all the technical aspects of Presco’s exploration and development projects.
John J. Goodwin – Vice President, Land
Mr. Goodwin, a Certified Professional Landman, has 28 years experience within the land, legal and commercial functions in exploration and production. During his 21 years with Mobil Oil, Mr. Goodwin’s responsibilities included land and joint interest property management, acquisitions and divestitures, coordination of legal issues, strategy development and regulatory support within oil and gas producing regions of West Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, and Oklahoma. Mr. Goodwin’s diverse background and experience in analyzing, negotiating and drafting oil and gas contracts, along with his project management skills, are well suited for management of Presco’s various projects.
E. Jessie Travis – Controller
Ms. Travis, a Certified Public Accountant, has over 30 years of accounting and tax experience, with 15 of those years in the energy industry. Ms. Travis has served as Controller for three corporations, two in the public sector, giving her considerable SEC experience. Her tax experience includes hands-on and management of federal tax reporting, as well as numerous states and local jurisdictions in most areas of taxation, including corporate, sales/use, property, and oil and gas production taxes. Ms. Travis has the accounting and tax expertise to manage Presco’s accounting and tax reporting.
Larry E. Little – Senior Engineering Consultant
Mr. Little provides Presco, Inc. petroleum engineering consulting services through his business, Larry E. Little and Associates, LLC which was formed January 1, 2001. In 2001 and 2002, he also served as Vice president of Operations, Gulf Coast/Oklahoma for Whitmar Exploration Company. From 1974 through 1979, Mr. Little held various engineering and management positions with Oxy USA/Cities Service in Jackson, Mississippi. From 1989 to 2001, he worked for Oxy USA in Houston, Texas, first as Exploitation Manager/Joint Interest Manager-GOM, Gulf Coast and SE USA, and then as Asset/Deepwater Manager, Gulf of Mexico.
Richard K. Ellis – President, Presco Energy
Mr. Ellis is an independent consultant, and has developed several of the company’s projects. He has a B.S. in Math, a B.S. and M.S. in Geology, and a law degree (J.D.). Mr. Ellis began his career with Chevron in 1977. He has worked for and with various oil and gas companies since 1985, as an independent consultant. He has extensive experience in coalbed methane development, particularly in the San Juan and Cherokee Basins. His areas of expertise include project risk and technical analysis and management, acquisition valuations and drilling and production operations.
